My preferred App for passwords. Fully compatible to the Windows KeePass software. No problem to use the windows database with this app. However I miss iCould sync with my iPad. This would be the fifth star.

I loved to see that Keepass is now available on Mac OS with this port. But as it turns out this port is not only terribly overpriced but also missing a lot of functionality and has a bad programming style. Several bugs create a bad user experience. You have to switch folder view first before being able to create a new entry. Right clicks are sometimes executed on different items so you accidentally delete important entries. And the search function never returns what one would expect. For such a price I was expecting way more than this.
This product advertises itself as a Mac version of KeePass, but it is sorely lacking in many respects: - cant open files from a URL - no option to synchronize databases - many UI glitches and quirks (e.g. scrolling is jerky, view entry doesnt work, left folder bar not expandable) All in all disappointing, especially for a product I paid money for. Not recommended.
Can’t seem to open the window for it
Took the chance of buying this app “on sale” because KeePassX seemed rather buggy. What a mistake! It refuses to open an existing .kdbx file. Tech support is *non-existent* as even after two months and perhaps four emails, I have no solution or help.
I’ve been using this since mid December 2013 with good results. You need to remember to save new entries before closing the app. Look of the UI could use some improvement.
As far as I know this is the only viable KeePas solution for the Mac, and so is the best solution for us to use at my office for shared passswords amongst our Mac, Windows and Linux users. This latest version fixes the sidebar re-sizing annoyance. Huzzah!
This app crashes after I delete an item and try to save the database. Please fix, one star for now.
Please fix this version. It is extremely difficult to use and full of problems. I created a new entry and it creates 20 groups of the same name, my entries created with the program and not keypassx have a line through them. This is distrubingly buggy for a program entrusted with handling my passwords!! Send me your XCode project and I will fix if you cannot.
Opened a .kdb file, entered the password... "Invalid password". I decided to install KeepassX, which has no problem opening this file. KyPass does not do the one thing it was made to do. What a waste of money.
I installed Keepass on my windows box and did all my passwords, I then copied my key file and my database file to my mac, Kypass opened them and auto typed my user name and password like a champ into my sites. Liking this app very much so far.
The app does what is supposed to, allowing me to open/modify keepass files however the interface is in much need of a revamp; on Yosemite the navigation tree renders black text on black background… really difficult to use… please fix!
This KyPass app has less functionality than the related iOS app. There doesnt seem to be a away to sync remotely from a WebDAV, so I cannot keep my passwords synced between my iMac and my iPad.
Everything works fine. :)
Works fine, but could use some improvements. What I miss most is some kind of startup popup (like in KeePass for Windows) which allows to quickly select recently opened DB along with the recently used key-file.
1. Please change app icon! Current too small and ugly :) 2. Add option to automatically open latest database.
Very unstable app. Search function in 1.6 version crashes the whole app. I need keepass 2.x mac version. This app is better than nothing, but KyPass Companion is terrible: it is not free, but it has less functions than free Windows version. And even those are unstable.
All categories and entries are accessible and navigable. Interface elements seem to be well and clearly labeled. The only difference with Windows client I’ve discovered so far is inability to set a custom sort order for the items in a group.
Spent 8 euros on it and it won’t even start. Do not buy.
At the end, I decided to uninstall and go with another password manager. Sad to say that it was a money waste. I do hope authors submitting to the Mac App store will improve the quality of their code. The original KeePass IMHO works much better
