KyPass App Comentários

Funciona como esperado mas interface pode melhorar

Abre os arquivos do keypass corretamente. Mas a barra a esquerda é muito escura no Mac OS Yosemite. Ruim de visualizar. Fora isso estou gostando até o momento.

Good (bom)

Funciona muito bem a mais de dois anos. Pode comprar tranquilamente.

KyPass = Kill Yourself Pass

Doesn’t work at all on OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks. The application balks while loading database file. I installed KeePassX for free and it works flawlessly. I use half a dozen KeePass implementations and this is the first I paid money for. My mistake.

don't buy, download is broken

App store charged me $7, but when I click download, it just says "cancelled".

does not sync in Dropbox

I have purchased KyPass for my iPhone, MacBook pro, and iPad. In the past I was able to sync the password file via Dropbox but now have not been able to do so for months. I have spent hours online searching for the way to fix this and have tried changing settings in both Kypass and Dropbox but nothing has worked.

Works perfect, use it every single day.

Works perfect, I use this application every single day and its been very dependable for me.

Fingerprint stopped working

Zero support from developer. FIngerprint stops working and the software is completely flakey. I've had it corrupt my password file multiple times.

Version 1.9.5 still does not reload key file

In looking for a replacement for KeepassX I chose KyPass for the Mac because the iOS version worked very well for me. However I found in the Mac version if you use a key file for 2 factor authentication you must reload the key file every time. Besides being a general nuisance to all, it is even more irksome to users with a mac that supports touch id as having to reload the key file prevents touch id use. This issue was recognized in the previous version and appears not to have been fixed in this one.

Very frustrating, Where’s the manual or instructions?

Good start to what could be a great password application. There’s some things I wish to do and can’t, perhaps in the future. I’m really frustrated at the moment because of the lack of a manual or any instructions. OK, You’re suppose to be able to sync but I don’t know how and when I try to use Icloud the button keeps turning itself off. What do I do? I managed to get all my devices syncing (2 Iphones and 3 OSX computers. Took half a day. A lot of searching and if you're not a real geek I think it would be difficult. I’m really frustrated, hell, I tried to join the forum but I don't get an activation email so I can't even ask a question of the fourm. This could be a great cross platform application! Get it together guys. You talked me into purchasing the applications, now support them (osx & ios), or at least respond to my emails Dan

Has worked flawlessly; no in-app purchases

KyPass has worked flawlessly opening and searching my KeePass files. Unlike other similar apps, KyPass does not have in-app purchases. Its price is also reasonable compared with other, similar apps. The overall rating is low due to an update last year that temporarily broke the app. However, I have had no problems for the several months that I have used it.

Works Perfectly

This product works great and is one of my favorite apps for opening KeePass databases on a Mac

Works well!

I have been using this for several years and I pass the DB between native KeePass and Kypass daily and have not had an issue. Nifty software and seems to stay out of your way.

QR Capture MISSING!!

Where's the QR code capture? This is an obvious missing feature since the IOS app creates & captures QR codes for password entries. Please consider adding desktop QR code capture!

Stopped working as of December 2018

This app worked fine but will no longer open. There is no update available in the app store.

Great password manager

I use this just about everyday to manage passwords for my IT business.

This works well

It's nice to see a Mac native keepass client that's kept up to date. It's still young, and doesn't have all the features of keepass, but with it's native KeePassHTTP integration (whick works better than the MacPass version), it enables easy acess and management of your stored secrets.

Last update fixed the issues - back to wonderful

Great app - works better than the freeware version of keepass i was using. Definitely worth the purchase

FIXED IT!!!! I knew it would be fixed!

Thank you for fixing the APP! I use it all the time and love it! Easy and reliable. Nice thing was, I knew with the IOS update, and the APP update, something was missed, and with a little patience, it was fixed. Works great now!

Works again

I installed version 1.9.4 and Kypass is working great again on my computer. I had trouble with the previous version and had to go to Macpass in the interim just so I could use my passwords.

Works great with mojave

Works great, I like it much better than alternatives for using my keepass db when I'm on a mac.

PLEASE FIX!!!!

I cannot access the database after the update on 10/6/2018

Completely stopped working

The last update caused this app to completely stop working. Immensely frustrating.

Stopped working after latest update

Like many people here, I am also experiencing issues with the latest version: it simply won’t open the database.

Version 1.9.3 is unable to open KeePass databases

I’ve been very happy with KeePass on Android for several years now, and was happy to see an AppStore version for Mac OS X. But 1.9.3 doesn’t work properly, won’t open my KeePass password database. I hope the authors are able to fix the problem. This is a great app, and I look forward to using it on Apple platforms. I’ll be checking frequently for the next update to KyPass 1.9.3.

What is going on?

This program has stopped working since the Sept 27 update. It will not open files and it will not allow for a new file to be created. My files are fine, they open perfectly on my PC and on my iPhone. There are many people reporting this problem. Please can you shed some light on what is going on so I can access my passwords on my Mac? Thank you….

Was good until the recent update...

The recent update stopped allowing me to open my database. I had to revert the application using time machine to be able to get my passwords again.

Stopped working after 1.9.3

No longer works after update (Sierra). I don't get a screen to type in the password to unlock my DB. (And I can't manually reinstall from the app store, beause my app store password is in the DB I can't access!) Charging $6.99 for an app, and then breaking compatibility without warning is a crummy thing to do. Please consider patching to work on older OS versions. Not everyone is able to upgrade to newer OS version right away.

Don’t Upgrade

It wasn’t a bad app….until today. It no longer opens my KeePass file.

The app does not respond after recent upgrade

The app won’t start after recent upgrade so it became useless

KyPass can’t open files post-update

I just updated KyPass to version 1.9.3. Now it no longer opens files. It launches when I double click the file, but no document opens. I tried opening it directly from the File menu, same problem. KyPass was great until this update.

Now it’s broken

I was prompted by the Mac AppStore to update. So I did. Now it will not open my database. I tried a reboot. That did not help. No error. It worked just fine prior. I thought Ok let me delete the app and install the old version. Nope, old version is not available from KyPass website. Now I am stuck with no way to open my password database from my MacBookPro running HighSierra. BTW It looks like the Discord support site for this is also broken.

Version 1.9.3 Problem

Updated to version 1.9.3 today. It won’t open my password database. After selecting the database file and clicking Open, the window just closes. The program is still running. I restored the previous version (1.9.2) and it works just fine. My rating for the app is based on version 1.9.2. Version 1.9.3 is unusable.

documentation would be useful

1. the “help” menu item just launches the utterly worthless (unless you want advertising) kyrtan.be web site. 2. There is _no_ documentation anywhere other than the 4 entries in the “Tips” menu tab on the kyrtan.be web site. These blog entries are … insubstantial. 3. A password manager that makes you drill down multiple clicks before you can click on the view icon next to the _repeat_ entry to actually see the password in question is substantially less than fully useful.

Crashes

Since the last update, it crashes everytime I try to search for an account. It really had been getting better, but….

Support??

I like the application and have used it on a PC where it has more functionality. I sent a question to support a week ago and have yet to get an answer. So while the application is okay, but lacks some functionality (like ordering/indexing groups), and if you’re looking for good support, you may want to look elsewhere. I’m disapointed.

Really good now

This product has been refined and improved to the point where it is clearly stable and works very well. I use it exclusively on my Mac for all my passwords, and I’m very delighted with how it works. The author keeps improving this app and it’s really very good for accessing keepass compatible databases (these work on PC’s as well as Macs and iOS). It’s very reliable, although it lacks the automatic features of some passwork keepers, it doesn’t screw up or lose things on me. And I don’t think this is as open to large scale hacks as the more commercial apps, because they don’t keep a copy of your data.

Abandonware

This app had a lot of potential, but the developer is no longer responding to inquiries, there are no updates on their software support pages or wiki. Specific issues: 1. Import functionality doesn't work : in fact you can't fully see the import options as the pop-up window is not adjustable, and buttons/text overlap in such a way as to make it unusable. 2. Keepasshttp functionality is hard-coded/packaged with app, so the component is greatly out of date, giving warnings on each use. Two stars instead of one, as it actually has most of the advertised functionality; but understand if you buy this, you wil be paying $7.99 for the product as is, with no updates in > 1 year, and no response from the developer to support inquiries.

Invalid password.

Can’t open an of my keepass kdb files. Gives invalid password. Db’s open fine in other keepass programs but not this one :(

Will not Open After Install

The App will not open after Install.

Doesn’t work

I purchased the app on my 2015 MacBook Pro and it doesn’t work. Click on the icon and no application window appears. Waste of time and money.

It

I had been using this KeePass client on my mac for some time now, but switched to MacPass when I saw there were other MacOSX options. I'm liking MacPass better.

KyPass very disappointing

Had used KyPass before and it was very satisfactory. It was lost in an ‘incident’, so I re-purchased the newer version. Not only is it NOT intuitive, it’s absolutely contrary. Repeated attempts to load and run have failed and there appears to be no support whatsoever, other than paid support via ads on Google. All I need do is shell out ~$75.00, allow someone total access to my system and rely on a ‘vendor’ of I’ve never heard of. I’m not adverse to paying for support, I’ve paid for support with Apple over the ‘net and with my local Apple store, but with the number of scams on the net I’m not about to relinquish control of my system to a total unknown. If KyPass has some support in the future, I would consider trying ti again, but for now, absolutely not, Sorry I can’t get my money back.

Nothing

I cant edit old example entries, I cant import with Import Tasker function, I cant get it to open an example file after Ive given it a password, the password was “password” so Im sure I was typing it in correctly. This was a total waste of time, money and effort.

Terribly disappointing

KyPass Companion was my first attempt to replicate on my home computer the functionality I get from KeePass on my work computers. Sadly, it was a terribly disappointing attempt and I’ve since started looking for alternatives. The problems with the OS-X version of this application are numerous. I abandoned “sharing” the same security DB between this app and the original KeePass in Windows almost immediately. I found that the shared file would become corrupted and could not be opened in either app any more. The corruption issue isn’t ubiquitous when I access a file using this app only but it is far too commonplace. I’ve had to “recreate” my security DB a couple of times because the app crashes and the file becomes corrupted. It’s only by virtue of Time Machine that I’m only losing small blocks of data, relatively speaking, when it invariably crashes. There are other minor quibbles I have with this app. The interface is clunky and not intutive. It’s missing basic sorting and “file management” functions. I can’t sort the groups in my DB by alphabetical order and that should be a default feature. And there seems to be no way to “empty the recycle bin” inside the app. I can delete group after group and entry after entry until my heart’s content but they’ll always remain in the recycle bin. I have asked the developer for a refund of my purchase and I strongly advise others to stay away. At least until there are some significant improvements.

Just purchased for macbook / yosemite and will not open kdbx file

… that opens fine on my windows machine using keeps. Nothing happens, kypass just sits there at the login screen. See nothing on support forum or options to try and debug.

Great product - Feature Request

I have been using Kypass Companion for a while on OS X and find it a fantastic product that works flawlessly. Well done you guys! But there is one feature that is missing: Whenever I add a new key to the database I prefer to change the name of the file (by adding a consecutive number to the end) so that there is no confusion about which among my backups has the latest data. If Kypass had a “Save as..” command to let me do this, it would be perfect.

1.7 Discards data from other KeePass clients

Version 1.7 (3187) will discard extended details added by other KeePass clients. The mobile app I use adds some custom fields it uses and when I save via this app all those custom fields get lost. Not cool.

Terrible, Buggy

I downloaded and opened KyPass and tried to edit an existing KeePass file. I couldn't do anything - I couldn't edit existing entries, add a new entry, nothing. I tried making a new KeePass file, and it was populated with a bunch of junk folders cluttering up the file. I tried deleting the folders. The delete keyboard shortcut didn't work. I deleted them one at a time, until the app froze up, my CPU sat at 99%, and three minutes later it crashed. Completely worthless program.

Thank you!!!

I’ve been using KeePass on Windows for many years. When I switched to a Mac a couple of years ago, I continued to run Windows on VMWare for a few apps that I just couldn’t part with…KeePass being one. This turned out to be the easiest transition ever! Just install the app and open the KeePass file. It may not function exactly like KeePass but that’s just fine with me. It does exactly what I need it to do without the headaches of starting over with a new/different app. And as an added bonus, I didn’t need to install Mono or anything else! Great job! Thank you!!

Extremely disappointed….

I purchased this with the intention of using dropbox to sync with my kypass kdb database from my other iOS devices. This feature is available for iPhone / iPad, but not the mac KyPass Companion version.

Sort of works, not worth the asking price (as it currently functions)

Coming from Windows 7 and having used the (free) KeePass application with the (free) KeePass Firefox extension for years, this is a large step backwards for an unjustified price. Here are the advantages: 1) UI is decently pretty. 2) Opens KeePass 2.x files 3) Works much snappier than KeePass under Mono/Quartz (though I’m thinking I should go that route anyway) Here are the drawbacks: 1) The search functionality does not work when looking for contents of the ‘URL’ field, even when that is a configured search criteria and at least on URL field contains what you’re searching for. 2) There is no analagous “auto-type” function which will paste the contents of a username, hit tab (or some other per-entry configurable key combo), and then paste the contents of the password into highlighted fields, ala KeePass. 3) The search box is too small, and you can’t see what you’re typing once characters fill the screen. Resizing the window doesn’t fix this. You can’t even scroll further to the right with the cursor to see what you typed. 4) This app needs WAY MORE hotkeys. I could only discern three of them (find, copy username, copy password) 5) No online help (There is an option for it, but then it says, there’s no help available). 6) I can’t figure out what the bundled Firefox extension does…it doesn’t seem to work AFAICT.
